In the interest of speeding up the character development. time goes twice as fast. Every six months we'll have summer, autumn, winter, spring, Christmas and new years. Plus your characters move up a year every six months, provided you pass your classes.
For teachers, it means you will have to host one class for each season, so eight classes per year. Heads of house will have to fill out the gradebook twice a year and the headmistress will have plenty to do too.
If this system proves too much to handle, we can go back to real time, but the calender feature will be used so you can all keep track of key dates in the site timeline.
